2011 Cheap Eats Winners

Posted in Jona, Supreme on February 28, 2011 by jona

Last week’s Epicure saw the release of the 2011 Cheap Eats Guide and along with it the list of Melbourne’s best fiscally responsible eats. We are quite chuffed to pass on the accolades to three of our accounts who made the honour roll. Directly from The Age and in no particular order;

The NZ Quake

We like to send our thoughts to all the South Island Kiwis who are battling the aftermath of today’s earthquake. As you may well know we’ve got close ties with out trans-Tasman neighbours with friends, colleagues, and family all living and working in the affected areas. As far as we know all our crew are OK but our condolences go out to those who have lost loved ones or have friends or family missing

Coffee Supreme Melbourne

El Salvador

Posted in Heath on February 10, 2011 by coffee supreme

Guns, Guns and more Guns. Everyone is packing heat in El Sal! It’s pretty crazy to be around but we have not felt in danger at all, yesterday we had our own personal driver looking after us as we drove around to mills and farms for cuppings. The coffee here is great especially at JHill Mill where we have secured some rocking coffee from Aida! I can’t wait to get these coffees back and in to our blends and online store! Last origin tomorrow, Guatemala! We will be sleeping next to an active volcano one of our nights there, some great experiences so far!

Goodbye Nica

Posted in Heath, Supreme on February 7, 2011 by coffee supreme

Sitting at the airport in Nicaragua waiting to fly to San Salvador. It’s been a full on 4 days in Nica, farm visits, horse rides, mill visits and a 4 table cupping session. We were very well looked after on our stay by the Mierisch family, they were amazing hosts and have some of the most beautiful farms you could see. We have some great coffee booked up and can’t wait to get it back to Melbourne. next stop El Salvador.

Panama

Posted in Heath, Supreme on February 2, 2011 by coffee supreme

Today wifi is my friend, after leaving Costa Rica we have moved on to Panama, WOW this place is incredible, beautiful and peaceful. This morning we cupped what I can only describe as the best coffees I’ve ever had. We have just returned from a nice walk around with Rachel Peterson from Hacienda La Esmeralda, the farm is unreal and was very hard to leave. Tomorrow we head off to our next destination which is Nicaragua, hopefully I have Internet? Being that my cell provider is Vodafone it seems unlikely I will have phone service but I’ll do my best to update when I can.

Central Buying trip update.

Costa Rica is Costa Rica

Posted in Heath on January 29, 2011 by coffee supreme

Well after a lot of flying and very little sleeping we arrived in Costa Rica yesterday morning. 24 coffees to cup and 3 farms to visit was an instense way to start your first origin trip. Costa is an amazing place and the growers we met yesterday are really passionate about the coffees they are producing. More coffee and more farms today, stay tuned.

Team Supreme Racing

Those with a keen eye may have spotted a new cycling kit in the morning peleton or along the Yarra trails in recent weeks. We have a limited number of Coffee Supreme pieces available to purchase for anyone who wants to represent (and look very snappy whilst doing so). The kit has been made by Nemesis and the sizing runs bang-on to normal so chances are it’ll match whatever you normally wear. If in doubt, come past the Roastery and size them up

The short-sleve jeresy is race-cut and we’ve got S-XL including a 2XL & even a 3XL. They are available until sold out for $85 inc GST. We also have a very limited number of kits here (bib & brace shorts with jersey) however they are only available in Large and Extra Large and cannot be split. They are $215 Inc GST.

We’d be happy to ship these out to anyone in Australia & NZ so get in quick. I’ll keep this page updated with stock availability as they sell. Email me; jona[at]coffeesupreme[dot]com[dot]au with any questions or order enquiries.

Coffee Supreme at the Tour Down Under

Posted in bikes and cycling, Jona, Supreme on January 20, 2011 by jona

Readers of Wade’s blog Cycling Tips may have noticed a couple of Coffee Supreme related pics over the last few days from the Tour Down Under in Radelaide. The Stage 1 review showed the Sole Devotion boys climbing for KOM glory and today’s post of Stage 2 featured our mate Leigh DeLuca looking very Euro wearing the Supreme colours. I’m looking forward to getting over there this weekend to check out the action, might even see some of you there.
